TREATMENT  INFORMATION

Treatments in detail

ANTI-WRINKLE TREATMENTS  – Botulinum Toxin is a paralysing toxin produced by Clostridium Botulinum which temporarily blocks muscular activity for up to 3-4 months. Given in small doses it smooths lines and wrinkles by relaxing the muscles that cause wrinkles. It can take up to two weeks to see the effect of anti-wrinkle treatments and multiple treatments will be required for the ongoing effects.

LIP ENHANCEMENT / FILLER – Fillers are a cross linked synthetic product made up of hyaluronic acid and often contain lidocaine. They come in varying thicknesses but thin fillers or specialist lips fillers are used in lip enhancement. Fillers are injected into the lip to give a fuller lip or help shape a lip. Local anaesthetic (numbing cream) is generally applied prior to injections.

FILLER DISSOLVING - Filler can be dissolved with hyaluronidase. This is an enzyme used to dissolve hyaluronic acid based dermal fillers. It will break down the hyaluronic acid and will be naturally absorbed, therefore, eliminating the filler. This treatment requires a patch test 24 hours prior to treatment to ensure no allergy. The test differs from a patch test in that it requires injection of a small amount of diluted hyaluronidase into the forearm.

SKIN LESION REMOVAL – This is a non-surgical blemish removal or thermos-coagulation. This treatment uses a fibroblast machine, a high frequency electric current (heat source) to safely remove skin tags, moles, milia, seborrheic keratosis. For this treatment, you may be asked to provide a note from your GP outlining that the lesion you want removed is benign (non-cancerous).

What can be treated? – Skin tags, milia (white spots), common warts, Xanthelasma/Xanthoma (yellow flat plaques), moles, sun spots (pigmented skin), seborrheic keratosis (pigmented skin growths with a rough surface).

POLYNUCLEOTIDES – These are bio stimulators that contain molecules derived from fish as they are the closest match to human DNA. These have antioxidant effects as well as remodelling effects, they are used for restoring skin tone and elasticity by stimulating cells that produce collagen. DNA fragments are slowly absorbed into the skin and as cell renewal improves, so will collagen production, hydration levels and skin glow. They can improve scars, reduce stretch marks and improve skin texture, discolouration and tone. Great for ageing skin, pigmentation, dull skin, sagging skin, scarring, acne, rosacea, fine lines and stretch marks.

Frequency – treatments can be carried out every 3-4 weeks. For maximum results a course of 3 or 4 is recommended. Results will start to show after 3 weeks. Maximum results will be around 3-6 months

Due to the product being derived from fish, this treatment is not suitable for vegetarians, vegans or anyone with a fish allergy.

MICRONEEDLING AND MESOTHERAPY -  Both of these treatments use a device that uses tiny needles to create micro channels in the skin to allow for products to be absorbed into the deeper layers of the skin. They stimulate an inflammatory wound healing response. They are both handheld devices and one uses the application of product directly on the skin and needling on top of it, the other has the product in a syringe and is applied as the needling takes place. They both have a rejuvenating effect by boosting the natural collagen, elastin and cell turnover and improving fine lines, wrinkles, deep pores, scarring and stretch marks. They give the skin a nice healthy glow and even tone and make up application is flawless. These treatments are brilliant alongside a chemical peel for maximum results.

Frequency – treatments can be every 3-4 weeks. A course of 6 is recommended to improve skin for up to 24 months.

DERMAPLANING – Dermaplaning is one of the best methods of exfoliation. This treatment uses a scalpel to remove excess dead skin and fine hairs in women. It is similar to a wet shave in men as it gently scrapes the surface of the epidermis to lift away unwanted dead skin cells, oils and fine hairs. It is not suitable for men as their hair is too course. Some people think hair will grow back thicker but this is not the case. Hair is pre-programmed and this treatment will not affect this program to change. Hair will grow back at the same rate of normal growth.

It eliminates dead skin cells and vellus hair, improves skin texture, promotes cellular renewal, increases product absorption and efficacy, brightens skin, lessens acne breakouts, and makes application of make-up flawless.

Dermaplaning can be used a s a stand-alone treatment or as a pre-treatment for chemical peels. Skin is left smooth, soft and glowing for 2-4 weeks.

Frequency – treatments can be done every 3 weeks or 30 days to coincide with the skins natural cycle. Dermaplaning lifts away 2-4 weeks of dead cells. Treatments sooner than 3 weeks can cause the skin to overcompensate

Before treatments – avoid waxing for 7 days before treatments, avoid topical products such as tretinoin for 3 days before treatments, cleanse skin with a mild cleanser, avoid sun exposure and wear SPF 30+

CARBOXYTHERAPY FACIAL - This is a non invasive treatment for those who do not like needles. It is effective for skin rejuvenation, reduction of fine lines and wrinkles, it improves skin tone and texture, reduces acne scarring and improves dark circles under the eyes. Carboxytherapy facials infuse carbon dioxide gas into the skin and relies on the body's own circulation to increase oxygen flow to the treated area. Carbon dioxide is a gas naturally produced by the body when breating so this is a risk free treatment. Oxygen levels delivered to the skin reduce as we age. By 30, skin oxygen levels drop by 25% and by 40, by up to 50%, which can lead to loss of elasticity and collagen. This treatment delivers carbon dioxide to the skin creating an acidic reaction that signals the body to respond with a surge of oxygen, thus stimulating natural growth factors and capillary formation leading to microcirculation. It boosts collagen and enhances lymphatic drainage, which leads to cell repair for firmer looking skin and reduction in puffiness as well as clearing out toxins.

Carboxytherapy facials are a stand alone treatment, not to be used in conjunction with other treatments and the effects of these treatments are cumulative.

Frequency - It is advised to have a course of 6 treatments, 1-2 weeks apart and then maintenance treatments every 6 weeks for best results.

CHEICAL PEELS – These treatments are very effective for multiple skin concerns such as anti-ageing, fine lines and wrinkles, acne, minimising pores and blackheads, improving the look of sun damaged skin, and the appearance of stretch marks, age spots and hyperpigmentation. They also improve skin tone and texture. Chemical peels are a form of controlled tissue death. They are great as a treatment alongside microneedling and dermaplaning.

During a chemical peel it is normal to feel tingling, itching, temperature change, tightness and irritation. The peel is designed to remove the uppermost layer of the skin at a microscopic level. You should not peel after a chemical peel.

Before a peel – It is recommended that you have a patch test at least 48 hours prior to a peel. Discontinue any topical prescriptions such as retinol A, avoid waxing, electrolysis or hair removal avoid sun exposure, no anti-wrinkle treatments or fillers, no other facial treatments for 1 week. Stop any exfoliating products the day before. Men do not shave

VITAMIN INJECTIONS- Vitamin C is found in many types of fruit and vegetables and can also be taken as supplements to treat a variety of conditions. Vitamin C is an antioxidant and can also be used to help with wound healing and tissue repair.

Vitamin B12 is used for many body systems. It has benefits in improving mood, energy levels, memory, heart, skin, hair and digestion. Some conditions that can be linked to Vit B12 deficiency include, dizziness, balance problems, tinnitus, restless legs, visual disturbances, depression, anxiety and fatigue among other things.

Vitamin B7, Biotin, boosts enzyme production, supports healthy cell growth and has a general effect on repairing and maintaining skin, hair and nail health. This group of vitamins helps to break down fat and carbohydrates thus turning them into energy. Indications of biotin deficiency can include hair thinning or damage, skin ageing, weak or brittle nails, muscle pains and aches, chronic fatigue, mood changes and dry irritated skin.

Vitamin injections are administered as an intramuscular injection in the upper arm, outer thigh or in the upper outer quadrant of the buttocks.
